Generating Book Buzz

Awards continue to roll in for Professor Dylan Penningroth’s book, Before the Movement: The Hidden History of Black Civil Rights. It recently received two honors from the Organization of American Historians, one for best book of the year in American social history and one for best book-length historical study of the political economy, politics, or institutions of the United States from the Civil War to the present.
